Urology is the area of medicine that evaluates and treats disease in the collection system of the kidneys (ureters, bladder, urethra) and genital areas (prostate, vaginal, vestibule).

This area is very challenging to access surgically at times so our department has scopes of various sizes for all cats and dogs, fluoroscopy (real time x-ray) and ultrasound guided methods to diagnose and to treat any issues in the genitourinary tract.

The clinical signs you may notice are excessive urination, straining to urinate, blood in urine, pain in urination, more frequent urination. If you notice these signs there is a problem in the urinary system and they should be evaluated by a veterinarian.
