Sarah Zimmerman, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. Zimmerman is originally from Arizona, where she attended the University of Arizona graduating summa cum laude.

She went on to graduate from the Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Driven by her passion for cardiac care, she then completed a one-year rotating internship at Mesa Veterinary Hospital, followed by a three-year residency in cardiology at Colorado State University.

In 2004 she was presented with the Distinguished Research Award by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine for her work titled “Canine Heart Valve Interstitial Cells: Phenotypic and functional Properties of Normal and Myxomatous Valves.”

In 2006, she successfully completed all requirements of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and became a board-certified cardiologist.

Sarah grew up surrounded by animals and emphasizes the human-animal bond in her practice. Her goal is to provide the highest quality compassionate care while working as a team with the primary care veterinarian.

Outside of the hospital, Sarah enjoys Olympic weightlifting, as well as spending time with her husband and pets.
