Millie Grimes, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)

ACCESS – South Bay

Dr. Millie Grimes was born and raised in Los Angeles. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Cal State LA and her Doctorate from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She then did a rotating and specialty internship at ASEC in West LA and an Internal Medicine residency at Texas A&M.

Like most veterinarians, her love of both science and animals drew her to the field. Internal medicine, specifically, caught her attention because it involves a lot of problem-solving/detective work and covers various body systems (though GI disease is her favorite).

Outside of veterinary medicine, Millie enjoys playing board games, trying new beers, reading, and learning strange science/animal facts. Recent hobbies include fermentation (ex. kombucha, sauerkraut), podcasts, and houseplants. She has two cats — a long-haired tabby named Sullivan and a Devon Rex named Hubble.

Millie met her husband, Mateo, in Texas, although he, himself, is Croatian. They are super excited to have moved to San Pedro and look forward to meeting everyone!
