Megan Sisson, DVM
ACCESS – LOS ANGELES
Dr. Megan Sisson was born in small-town Ohio and attended Heidelberg University for her undergraduate degree. She then received her graduate degree from Duke University (Genetics and Genomics, focusing on mycological pathogenesis and microbiology).
After a couple of years working as a microbiologist and starting out in the veterinary field, she then matriculated and graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduating in 2016, Dr. Sisson worked as a federal Veterinary Medical Officer (VMO) and a microbiologist – first in Miami, then Iowa – primarily using her graduate degree and laboratory benchtop skills for national disease surveillance. After three years, she returned to clinical practice working first in Detroit and then in New Jersey in emergency and critical care departments.
Dr. Sisson joined the ACCESS’ emergency/critical care team in July 2022.
Once an avid cyclist, Megan hopes to get back into it now that she lives in a warmer climate. She’s also interested in hiking, camping, and finding local hot spots for new fun experiences, dining, and relaxing.
