Joseph Zarin, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology)

ACCESS – PASADENA

Dr. Joseph Zarin grew up in Sherman Oaks, California and attended UC Santa Barbara to earn his bachelor’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.

He attended veterinary school at UC Davis to earn his doctorate in veterinary medicine. He went on to complete a small animal rotating internship at the University of Georgia, followed by an emergency and critical care specialty internship at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital. Dr. Zarin remained in Boston to complete a three-year cardiology residency at Angell Animal Medical Center and become a board-certified cardiologist. Following his residency, Dr. Zarin made his way back home to California and joined the ACCESS team.

Dr. Zarin appreciates all aspects of cardiology, and finds particular fulfillment from helping a patient overcome a heart emergency and return home to their family. He also enjoys diagnosing and managing arrhythmias and congenital heart diseases.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Zarin enjoys biking, backpacking, bikepacking, basketball and alliterations.
