Claudia Medina, DVM

Dr. Claudia Medina was born in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, grew up in Venice, California, and moved to New York City when she was 18. She was a fashion model and studied drama for 3 years in NYC and has also lived in Milan, Greece, and Hong Kong. She moved back to Los Angeles where she did TV commercials for almost a decade.

She took her sick cat Starbuck to ACCESS when it was just known as Advanced Critical Care & Internal Medicine in 2005. She saw the facility and got a job as a technician. It was then she decided to go back to school get her bachelor’s degree and applied to vet school in Saint Kitts, West Indies. Dr. Medina did her clinical year at Louisiana State University and her internship at Animal Specialty Group.

She loves emergency medicine and is happy to be at ACCESS. She also is passionate about ocean conservation and trying to figure out how she can lend a voice to the marine mammals as they need veterinary care as well. She is a self-described travel junkie and still need to see more of the world.
