Barbara Li, BVMS, DACVECC
ACCESS – SOUTH BAY
Dr. Barbara Li grew up in Toronto, Canada and earned her Bachelor of Science in both Biology and Psychology at McMaster University in Ontario. She spent time working in a bat lab for her undergraduate thesis project where she assessed bats (and rats) and their ultrasonic vocalizations under different situations.
In 2013 she traveled to Edinburgh, Scotland to earn her veterinary degree at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. Dr. Li then moved back to Toronto to work at an emergency hospital. During that time, Dr. Li became interested in pursuing advanced training and moved to New York City to complete a rotating internship at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in 2017.
Her interest in emergency and critical care only grew, and she now joins the ER team at ACCESS South Bay. Dr. Li’s interests outside of work include finding new places to hike, traveling, rock climbing, and exploring new restaurants to try.
