Dr. Meghan Allen, DVM, MS

ACCESS – San Fernando Valley

Dr. Meghan Allen grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University (LSU) for degree in Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Following veterinary school, she completed a one-year rotating internship at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine followed by a Cardiology specialty internship at Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Allen then completed a three-year residency in Cardiology at Oregon State University. While there, she performed research evaluating the use of novel electrocardiographic monitoring in dogs with atrial fibrillation and received a resident research award for her work in the investigation of the hemodynamic and cardiovascular properties of gabapentin in felines. She is excited to help your pets and is eager to sit for her boards in June 2021 (postponed due to COVID19).

Clinically, Dr. Allen enjoys interventional radiology and the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias. She particularly loves getting to know each of her patients’ personalities and joys in life, especially giving tasty treats! (it brings her immense joy to treat her patients to the “cardiology snack bar”. When not working, she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and traveling. She currently has two cats, Kit Kat and Sir Mumbles Archimedes McMuffinpuff, and she is looking to add a dog to the family soon.
