Mayu Matsuda, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM)
ACCESS – Los Angeles
Dr. Mayu Matsuda grew up in sunny SoCal and completed her undergrad at UC Berkeley. Mayu then followed her passion for the arts and studied art history for a year in New York City before attending veterinary school at Michigan State University.
She did an internship at a practice in West LA, then returned to Michigan State for an internal med internship. Mayu worked in general practice for two years just outside Chicago, then completed her residency at Auburn University. Mayu returned to Chicago to work for a year, then moved to Northern California for two years prior to joining ACCESS.
Mayu especially enjoys endocrine diseases, liver, GI, and immune-mediated diseases, and working with cats. She also has a special interest in kidney disease and is happy to work at a hospital where Nephrology and hemodialysis are readily available.
Mayu speaks some Japanese, and in her spare time, she likes to spend time with family, cook/bake, hike, and spend probably an unhealthy amount of time looking at cat Instagram pages and cat memes!
