Jennifer Geiger, DVM
ACCESS – SAN FERNANDO VALLEY
Dr. Jennifer Geiger is a Connecticut native who originally attended George Mason University in Virginia to study music. She soon realized that the musician’s practice rooms were too small, and moved back to New England to pursue her true passion-helping animals! Dr. Geiger then began her studies of Animal Science and Microbiology at the University of Rhode Island.
Upon graduating, she pursued her veterinary degree on the sunny, tropical island of St. Kitts, then finished clinicals at Oklahoma State University. She then moved to DC for her rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals, where she developed a love for both neurology and emergency medicine. After a short stint in general practice and two specialty internships in neurology, she began working as an emergency clinician at VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital, maintaining an interest in wound repair, neurology, and emergency surgery.
After a few years of exploring DC area history, nature, and running scene, she decided to see what the West Coast had to offer and moved to sunny Southern California with her three dogs (Tess, Quincy, and Bandit), two cats (Minnie and Ginny), and wonderful husband, Doug.
Outside of work she loves to do anything that involves being out in nature, and looks forward to exploring the running trails with Quincy, rock climbing and paddling with Tess, and camping with her husband and the dogs.
