James Kim, DVM, DACVS
ACCESS – SOUTH BAY
A Southern California native, Dr. James Kim received his undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. He then completed his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis. His post-doctorate training included a rotating internship at the Animal Specialty Emergency Center and a surgical internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, Texas.
James then returned to Northern California to complete a surgical fellowship at the J.D. Wheat Veterinary Orthopedic Laboratory at the University of California, Davis; which was followed by a three-year surgical residency at the same institution he received his doctorate. James obtained Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2012.
Now back in Southern California, James has eagerly joined the surgical team at ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospitals. He looks forward to providing patients advanced surgical treatments for both orthopedic and soft tissue conditions. His clinical interests are minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy, arthroscopy, and thoracoscopy.
